Chapter 48.--MILITIA, DEFENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Article 2.--KANSAS ARMY AND AIR NATIONAL GUARD

      48-247.   Same; administration of oath of enlistment.Whenever an officer shall act as a recruiting officer under writtenauthority of the commander in chief, in the organization of a new companyof national guard, the officer shall have power to administer the oath ofenlistment. The commissioned officer in command of a company, battery,corps, auxiliary squad, battalion, regiment or brigade shall have power toadminister the oath of enlistment. To recruits for regimental bands, theoath of enlistment may be administered by the commanding officer of thenearest company or battery of the national guard or by a civil officercompetent to administer oaths.
