90.420 Rights under former acts preserved. Any rights, benefits, choses in action or claims owned or possessed by any employee of a <br>city of the second class or his estate or next of kin, on June 12, 1940, and which arose or <br>grew out of the provisions of Chapter 53 of the Acts of 1938, and any rights, benefits, <br>choses in action or claims arising under any ordinance passed by a city of the second class <br>under the powers conferred by Chapter 53 of the Acts of 1938, are preserved and <br>sustained. The acquired status of any such employee under the civil service system <br>authorized by Chapter 53 of the Acts of 1938 shall not be changed, or his rank or <br>classification altered, nor shall the immunity from examination or the rank or grade <br>acquired by previous service to the city, under the provisions of Chapter 53 of the Acts of <br>1938 and the ordinances passed thereunder, be destroyed, reduced or altered.
