118.245 Number of votes necessary to nominate candidates or slates -- Section not applicable to presidential primaries. (1) The candidate for office, other than the offices of Governor and Lieutenant Governor, receiving the highest number of votes in a primary election for the office <br>for which he is a candidate shall be the nominee of his party for that office and shall <br>receive the certificate of nomination. (2) The slate of candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor receiving the highest number of votes in a primary shall be the nominees of that party for Governor and <br>Lieutenant Governor, and that slate of candidates shall receive the certificate of <br>nomination. (3) If two (2) or more candidates or slates of candidates in a primary election are found to have received the highest and an equal number of votes for nomination to the <br>same office, the election shall be determined by lot in the manner the board directs, <br>in the presence of not less than three (3) other persons.
