156.136 Vacancies caused by suspension -- Appointment -- Term -- Payment. The Kentucky Board of Education, upon suspension of any officer or district board of <br>education member under KRS 156.132, shall name a person to fill the vacancy caused by <br>such suspension. Persons appointed by the Kentucky Board of Education to fill vacancies <br>under KRS 156.132 and this section shall hold office only during the time an officer is <br>suspended, not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date of suspension. At the expiration <br>of such period, vacancies shall be filled in the manner provided by law for the office. <br>Persons appointed by the Kentucky Board of Education to fill vacancies caused by <br>suspension shall be paid from funds of the district board of education. Any person <br>employed to fill the position of a superintendent who has been removed by the Kentucky <br>Board of Education under KRS 156.132 shall be employed by the district board of <br>education for periods not to exceed one (1) year if the superintendent has appealed to the <br>courts and if the courts have not taken final action.
