Kentucky schools are encouraged to include a segment concentrating on the prevention of <br>pediatric abusive head trauma, as defined in KRS 620.020, during a student's final year of <br>study at Kentucky high schools. Important areas of concentration for this segment would <br>include information related to the prevention and recognition of pediatric abusive head <br>trauma. This segment should also suggest methods of calming crying infants, techniques <br>for caregivers to use to calm themselves when confronted with an infant that is crying <br>inconsolably, and a discussion relating to selecting responsible care providers for infant <br>children.
