206.090 Funeral expenses -- Distribution of pension upon death of pensioner. (1) When a pensioner dies, the amount due him at the date of his death and his funeral and burial expenses shall be paid to an administrator appointed by the county <br>judge/executive of the county where the pensioner resided at the time of his death. <br>The funeral and burial expenses paid by the state shall not exceed one hundred <br>dollars (&#36;100) in each case. (2) The cabinet shall before the next succeeding date for the payment of pensions, furnish to the administrator a voucher for the amount due the pensioner at the time <br>of his death, which shall be filled out and returned to the cabinet together with a <br>properly verified claim of the undertaker for the funeral and burial expenses of the <br>pensioner, approved by the county judge/executive of the county in which the <br>pensioner resided, died or was buried, all of which shall be filed with the cabinet, <br>and the cabinet shall issue its warrant to the administrator for the unpaid portion of <br>the pension, and a warrant to the claimant for the funeral and burial expenses. Upon <br>proper and satisfactory proof of the fact, the warrant for funeral and burial expenses <br>may be issued to anyone paying such expenses. (3) The administrator shall distribute the pension money to the persons legally entitled thereto. Effective: October 1, 1942 <br>History: Recodified 1942 Ky.
