212.341 Definitions. As used in KRS 212.343 to 212.347, unless the text requires otherwise: <br>(1) &quot;Sterilization&quot; shall mean any procedure or operation, the purpose of which is to render an individual permanently incapable of reproducing. (2) &quot;Nontherapeutic sterilization&quot; shall mean any procedure or operation, the purpose of which is to render an individual permanently incapable of reproducing and which is <br>not either: <br>(a) A necessary part of the treatment of an existing physical illness or injury, or <br>(b) Medically indicated as an accompaniment of an operation on the female genitourinary tract. History: Created 1974 Ky. Acts ch. 352, sec. 2.
