212.860 District board of health -- Meetings -- Quorum -- Compensation. (1) A majority of all the members of the district board of health shall constitute a quorum. The board shall elect a chairman and vice chairman and such other officers <br>as it deems necessary for the board to conduct business. The district board of health <br>may elect an executive committee representative of the district, for the conduct of <br>such business and the discharge of such duties as the board may delegate. The <br>committee shall meet as determined by the board or at the call of the district health <br>officer. (2) Members of district boards of health shall serve without pay but may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in connection with such service in accordance with state <br>travel regulations and the policies of the cabinet. (3) The district board of health shall appoint a health officer and fix his salary subject to the approval of the cabinet and applicable merit system regulations.
