The director may assess fines for violations of a provision of this chapter. Each day's failure to comply with this chapter shall be a separate violation and fines shall not exceed $500 per day per violation. Amounts received under this section must be deposited in the special revenue fund and are appropriated to the Office of Higher Education for the purposes of this chapter.
