Witnesses to be examined on oath.

492.290. Every witness examined, in pursuance of sections492.080 to 492.400, shall be sworn or affirmed to testify thewhole truth, and his examination shall be reduced to writing, ortaken in shorthand and transcribed, in writing, in the presenceof the person or officer before whom the same shall be taken.
