State fair--establishment--control--condemnation proceedings.

262.220. 1. For the purpose of encouraging the developmentof the agricultural, horticultural, mechanical, mineral,livestock production and all other industrial interests of thestate of Missouri, there is hereby established a state fair, tobe held annually at Sedalia, Missouri, and on the statefairgrounds heretofore conveyed by deeds of conveyance to thestate of Missouri and hereafter to be acquired by the state ofMissouri as herein provided; and the fair shall be under thecontrol and management of the state fair commission. Thecommission may lease or purchase such lands, suitable for the useof the state fair, as may be deemed by the commission necessaryand proper for such purposes and subject to legislative approval.

2. The purchase of lands by the commission shall be onbehalf of the state of Missouri at such terms as the commissionmay deem fair and reasonable, and a deed or deeds shall be takentherefor to the state of Missouri.
