Monthly requisitions on county commission, how issued, amountof--reversion of funds.

262.600. Immediately following the close of each month thecouncil shall requisition the county commission for the estimatedamount of the month's expenditures and within ten days afterfiling the requisition, shall submit to the county commission acertified, itemized statement of all expenditures covered by therequisition. The requisition shall constitute the basis forimmediate issuance by the county commission and it shall, ifthere be funds available therefor, promptly issue a warrantcovering the requisition in full and drawn in favor of thetreasurer of the council. For the purpose of this section thechairman and secretary of the council shall be regarded ascertifying officers. The requisition for any given month shallnot exceed one-twelfth of the total amount appropriated for theyear unless a reserve shall have accumulated as a result ofexpending less than the aforementioned twelfth portion during oneor more preceding months, in which case the reserve shall beconstantly available for current expenditures. If the amount ofthe certified itemized statement is less than the amountrequisitioned the difference shall be credited against the nextrequisition. Any unused funds remaining in the appropriation onDecember thirty-first shall revert to the county treasury.
