Definitions.

275.300. When used in sections 275.300 to 275.370 thefollowing terms mean:

(1) "Agricultural commodity", any agriculture product thathas been produced for purpose of sale or exchange except animalswhose principal use could be construed as recreational, or as apet;

(2) "Commercial quantity", a quantity produced per year orother period of time which quantity is defined and determined bythe commodity merchandising council concerned;

(3) "Commodity merchandising council", a grouprepresentative of the commodity, hereafter referred to as the"council";

(4) "Director", the director of the department ofagriculture of the state of Missouri or his delegatedrepresentative;

(5) "Handler", any person who engages in the selling,marketing, or distribution of any agricultural commodity on awholesale basis, which he has purchased for resale or which he ismarketing on behalf of a producer, and shall include a producerwho distributes any agricultural commodity which he has produced;

(6) "Processor", any person engaged in the receiving,grading, packing, canning, freezing, drying, or other methods ofpreparation for market of agricultural commodities produced inMissouri for sale;

(7) "Producer", any individual, firm, corporation,partnership, or unincorporated association engaged within thisstate in business of producing for market any agriculturalcommodity in commercial quantities.
