Written report of accident.

300.115. The driver of a vehicle which is in any mannerinvolved in an accident resulting in bodily injury to or death ofany person or total property damage to an apparent extent of fivehundred dollars or more to one person shall, within five daysafter such accident, forward a written report of such accident tothe police department. The provisions of this section shall notbe applicable when the accident has been investigated at thescene by a police officer while such driver was present thereat.
