Combat medic badge, special license plates--application procedure,fees--no additional personalization fee--design.

301.3076. Any person who has been awarded the combat medic badge mayapply for combat medic motor vehicle license plates for any motor vehiclethe person owns, either solely or jointly, other than an apportioned motorvehicle or a commercial motor vehicle licensed in excess of eighteenthousand pounds gross weight. Any such person shall make application forthe license plates on a form provided by the director of revenue andfurnish such proof as a recipient of the combat medic badge as the directormay require. Upon presentation of proof of eligibility, the director shallthen issue license plates bearing the words "COMBAT MEDIC" in place of thewords "SHOW-ME STATE", except that such license plates shall be made withfully reflective material, shall be clearly visible at night, and shall beaesthetically attractive. Such plates shall also bear an image of thecombat medic badge. There shall be a fee of fifteen dollars in addition tothe regular registration fees charged for plates issued pursuant to thissection. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 301.144, no additionalfee shall be charged for the personalization of license plates issuedpursuant to this section. There shall be no limit on the number of licenseplates any person qualified pursuant to this section may obtain so long aseach set of license plates issued pursuant to this section is issued forvehicles owned solely or jointly by such person. License plates issuedpursuant to the provisions of this section shall not be transferable to anyother person except that any registered co-owner of the motor vehicle shallbe entitled to operate the motor vehicle with such plates for the durationof the year licensed in the event of the death of the qualified person.
