302.187. Any municipality or county that, after having taken themotor vehicle driver's license of a person, loses such license shallreplace such license and pay all costs of replacement. For purposes ofthis section, such license shall be deemed lost if, after thirty days fromthe date of taking such license, such municipality or county has no legalreason for retaining such license and cannot locate such license.
