29-2262.07. ProbationProgram Cash Fund; created; use; investment.TheProbation Program Cash Fund is created. All funds collected pursuant to section 29-2262.06 shall be remitted to the State Treasurer for credit to the fund.Except as otherwise directed by the Supreme Court during the period from November 21, 2009, until June30, 2011, the fund shall be utilized by the administrator, in consultationwith the Community Corrections Council, for the purposes stated in subdivision(14) of section 29-2252, except that the State Treasurer shall, on or beforeJune 30, 2011, on such date as directed by the budget administrator of thebudget division of the Department of Administrative Services, transfer theamount set forth in Laws 2009, LB1, One Hundred First Legislature, FirstSpecial Session. Any money in the fund available for investment shallbe invested by the state investment officer pursuant to the Nebraska CapitalExpansion Act and the Nebraska State Funds Investment Act.On July 15,2010, the State Treasurer shall transfer three hundred fifty thousand dollarsfrom the Probation Program Cash Fund to the Violence Prevention Cash Fund.The Office of Violence Prevention shall distribute such funds as soon as practicableafter July 15, 2010, to organizations or governmental entities that have submittedviolence prevention plans and that best meet the intent of reducing streetand gang violence and reducing homicides and injuries caused by firearms.
