3-304. Zoning board; members; appointment;terms.Where an airport is owned or controlled by a politicalsubdivision and any airport hazard area appertaining to such airport is locatedoutside the area regulated by zoning regulations adopted pursuant to section 3-303, the political subdivision owning or controlling the airportand the political subdivision within which the airport hazard area is locatedmay, by ordinance or resolution duly adopted, create a joint airport zoningboard, which board shall have the same power to adopt, administer, and enforceairport zoning regulations applicable to the airport hazard area in questionas that vested by section 3-303 in the political subdivision within whosearea of zoning jurisdiction such area is located. Each such joint board shallhave two representatives appointed by each political subdivision participatingin its creation as members thereof and also a chairperson elected by a majorityof the members so appointed. The term of each member shall be four years,except as otherwise provided in this section. Board members who have servedmore than two years as of March 1, 1984, shall continue to serve for two moreyears. Board members who have served less than two years as of March 1, 1984,shall continue to serve for four more years.
