81-2004.01. CarrierEnforcement Cash Fund; created; use; investment.(1) The Carrier EnforcementCash Fund is created. The fund shall be established within the Nebraska StatePatrol and administered by the Superintendent of Law Enforcement and PublicSafety. The fund shall consist of fund transfers made each fiscal year fromthe Roads Operations Cash Fund as authorized by the Legislature through thebudget process.(2) The Carrier EnforcementCash Fund shall only be used to pay the costs associated with the operationof the carrier enforcement division of the patrol, except that (a) the Legislature may authorizefund transfers each fiscal year through the budget process from the CarrierEnforcement Cash Fund to the Nebraska Public Safety Communication System CashFund to pay the carrier enforcement division's share of operations costs ofthe Nebraska Public Safety Communication System and (b) transfers may be made from the Carrier EnforcementCash Fund to the General Fund at the direction of the Legislature.(3) Any money in the CarrierEnforcement Cash Fund available for investment shall be invested by the stateinvestment officer pursuant to the Nebraska Capital Expansion Act and theNebraska State Funds Investment Act.
