Statutes > New-hampshire > TITLEXV > CHAPTER199 > 199-19Upon payment or tender of the damages awarded, the land shall vest in the district, and it may take possession of it. Such payment or tender may be made in accordance with the award of the selectmen before an appeal is taken, or while an appeal is pending, and shall have like effect. In such case if the damages are increased upon appeal the landowner shall have judgment for the excess; if decreased, the district shall have judgment for the amount of the decrease. If the result of the appeal is to change the award of damages in favor of the landowner he shall recover costs; otherwise he shall pay costs.
