(a) Unless otherwiseagreed by the parties, any written communication or submission is deemed tohave been received if it is delivered to the addressee personally or if it isdelivered at the addressee's place of business, domicile or mailing address andthe communication or submission is deemed to have been received on the day itis so delivered. Delivery by facsimile transmission shall constitute validreceipt if the communication or submission is in fact received.
(b) If none of theplaces referred to in subsection (a) can be found after making reasonableinquiry, a written communication or submission is deemed to have been receivedif it is sent to the addressee's last known place of business, domicile ormailing address by registered mail or any other means which provide a record ofthe attempt to deliver it.
(c) The provisions ofthis Article do not apply to a written communication or submission relating toa court, administrative or special proceeding. (1991, c. 292.)
