The board of county commissioners of any county is hereby authorizedand empowered to cooperate with the Department in the protection,reforestation, and promotion of forest management of their own forests withintheir respective counties, and to appropriate and pay out of the funds undertheir control such amount as is provided in G.S. 113‑54.
