(a) The purpose of this Article is to create an assessment onprimary forest products processed from North Carolina timber to provide asource of funds to finance the forestry operations provided for in the ForestDevelopment Act of 1977.
(b) All assessments levied under the provisions of this Articleshall be used only for the purposes specified in G.S. 113A‑193(c) and inthe Forest Development Act. (1977, c. 573, s. 2.)
