§ 113B‑2.  Creation ofEnergy Policy Council; purpose of Council.

(a)        There is herebycreated a council to advise and make recommendations on energy policy to theGovernor and the General Assembly to be known as the Energy Policy Councilwhich shall be located within the Department of Commerce.

(b)        Except as otherwiseprovided in this Chapter, the powers, duties and functions of the Energy PolicyCouncil shall be as prescribed by the Secretary of Commerce.

(c)        The Energy PolicyCouncil shall serve as the central energy policy planning body of the State andshall communicate and cooperate with federal, State, regional and local bodiesand agencies to the end of effecting a coordinated energy policy.  (1975, c. 877, s. 4; 1977,c. 23, ss. 1, 2; 2000‑140, s. 76(a); 2009‑446, s. 3.)
