§ 114‑19.22.  Criminalrecord checks of applicants for licensure as chiropractic physicians.

The Department of Justice mayprovide to the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners from the State andNational Repositories of Criminal Histories the criminal history of anyapplicant for licensure pursuant to Article 8 of Chapter 90 of the GeneralStatutes. Along with the request, the Board shall provide to the Department ofJustice the fingerprints of the applicant, a form signed by the applicantconsenting to the criminal record check and use of fingerprints and otheridentifying information required by the State and National Repositories, andany additional information required by the Department of Justice. Theapplicant's fingerprints shall be forwarded to the State Bureau ofInvestigation for a search of the State's criminal history record file, and theState Bureau of Investigation shall forward a set of fingerprints to theFederal Bureau of Investigation for a national criminal history record check.The Board shall keep all information obtained pursuant to this sectionconfidential. The Department of Justice may charge a fee to offset the costincurred by it to conduct a criminal record check under this section. The feeshall not exceed the actual cost of locating, editing, researching, andretrieving the information. (2007‑525, s. 2.)
