§ 115C‑105.40. Student academic performance standards.

The State Board of Education shall develop a plan to create rigorousstudent academic performance standards for kindergarten through eighth gradeand student academic performance standards for courses in grades 9‑12.The performance standards shall align, whenever possible, with the studentacademic performance standards developed for the National Assessment ofEducational Progress (NAEP). The plan also shall include clear andunderstandable methods of reporting individual student academic performance toparents. (1997‑221, s.3(e).)
