§ 115C‑336.1.  Parental leave.

A school employee may use annual leave or leave without pay to care fora newborn child or for a child placed with the employee for adoption or fostercare. A school employee may also use up to 30 days of sick leave to care for achild placed with the employee for adoption. The leave may be for consecutiveworkdays during the first 12 months after the date of birth or placement of thechild, unless the school employee and the local board of education agreeotherwise. (2002‑159, s.37.5(b).)
