§ 120‑218.  Commissionmeetings; public hearings; staff.

(a)        The Commissionshall hold its initial meeting at the call of the Speaker of the House ofRepresentatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. Subsequentmeetings shall be held upon the call of the Commission cochairs. The Speaker ofthe House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate shallappoint a cochair each from the membership of the Commission.

(b)        The Commission mayhold public hearings across the State to solicit public input with respect toissues relating to children and youth.

(c)        The Commission maycontract for clerical or professional staff or for any other services it mayrequire in the course of its ongoing study. At the request of the Commission,the Legislative Services Commission may supply members of the staff of theLegislative Services Office and clerical assistance to the Commission as theLegislative Services Commission considers appropriate. The Commission and theTask Force on the Coordination of Children's Services may, with the approval ofthe Legislative Services Commission, meet in the State Legislative Building orthe Legislative Office Building.
