§121‑13.  Acquisition of portrait of Governor during term of office.

During the term of office ofeach Governor of this State and at least six months prior to its expiration,the Secretary of the Department of Cultural Resources is directed to select askilled artist to paint a portrait of such Governor, and have the same suitablyframed. Upon the painting and acquisition of such portrait, the same shall beplaced in some appropriate building to be designated by the Department ofCultural Resources and which is located in the City of Raleigh.

The cost of the painting andacquisition of said portrait, including the cost of the frame and othernecessary expenses incident thereto, shall be paid from the Contingency andEmergency Fund. (1955, c. 1248; 1973, c. 476, s. 48.)
