§122C‑347.  Return of North Carolina resident clients from other states.

North Carolina residents whoare in treatment in another state may be returned to North Carolina eitherunder an agreement authorized in G.S. 122C‑346 or under the provisions ofG.S. 122C‑361. The cost of returning a North Carolina resident to thisState is the responsibility of the sending state. Within 72 hours afteradmission in a State facility, a returned resident shall be evaluated. Thereturned resident may agree to a voluntary admission or may be released, orproceedings for an involuntary commitment under this Article may be initiatedas necessary by the responsible professional in the facility.
