§ 127A‑9.  Number oftroops authorized.

In time of peace the Stateshall maintain only such troops as may be authorized by the President of theUnited States; but nothing contained in this Chapter shall be construed aslimiting the rights of the State in the use of the National Guard or the Statedefense militia or both within its borders in time of peace. Nothing containedin this Chapter shall prevent the organization and maintenance of State policeor constabulary.  (1917,c. 200, s. 8; C.S., s. 6797; 1963, c. 1016, s. 2; 1975, c. 604, s. 2; 2009‑281,s. 1.)
