§130A‑318. Disinfection of public water systems.

(a) The Department isauthorized to require disinfection of:

(1) Public water systemsintroduced on or after January 1, 1972; and

(2) All public watersystems, regardless of the date introduced, whenever:

a. The maximummicrobiological contaminant level is exceeded; or

b. Conditions existwhich make continued use of the water potentially hazardous to public health.

(b) Public watersystems shall employ disinfection methods and procedures approved by the Department.(1979, c. 788, s. 1; 1983, c. 891, s. 2.)
