§130A‑424.  Industrial Commission authorized to hear and determine claims;damages.

The North Carolina IndustrialCommission is authorized to hear and pass upon all claims filed pursuant tothis Article. The members of the Commission, or a deputy thereof, have power toissue subpoenas, administer oaths, conduct hearings, take evidence, enterorders, opinions, settlements, and awards, and punish for contempt. TheCommission may appoint deputies and clerical assistants to carry out thepurpose and intent of this Article, and this deputy or deputies are vested withthe same power and authority to hear and determine claims filed pursuant tothis Article as is by this Article vested in the members of the Commission.
