Part 2.  Nursing Home Patients' Bill of Rights.

§ 131E‑115.  Legislative intent.

It is the intent of the General Assembly to promote the interests andwell‑being of the patients in nursing homes and adult care homes licensedpursuant to G.S. 131E‑102, and patients in a nursing home operated by ahospital which is licensed under Article 5 of Chapter 131E of the GeneralStatutes. It is the intent of the General Assembly that every patient's civiland religious liberties, including the right to independent personal decisionsand knowledge of available choices, shall not be infringed and that thefacility shall encourage and assist the patient in the fullest possibleexercise of these rights.
