§ 131E‑292. Coverage.

(a)        Provider sponsored organizations subject to this Articleshall provide coverage for the medically appropriate and necessary servicesspecified under the PSO's Medicare contract.

(b)        In the event a PSO's Medicare contract or federal law,regulations, or rules governing coverage by the PSO of items or services toMedicare beneficiaries permits a PSO, sponsoring provider, or participatingprovider to object on moral or religious grounds to providing an item orservice to Medicare beneficiaries, it is the policy of this State to permitthis objection and allow the participating provider to refuse to provide theitem or service. (1998‑227, s.1.)
