§ 131E‑91. Itemized charges on discharged patient's bill.

All hospitals and ambulatory surgical facilities licensed pursuant tothis Chapter shall, upon request of the patient within 30 days of discharge,present an itemized list of charges to all discharged patients.

The Commission shall adopt rules to ensure that this section isproperly implemented and that patient bills which are not itemized includenotification to the patient of his right to request an itemized bill.  TheDepartment shall not issue nor renew a license under this Chapter unless theapplicant has demonstrated that the requirements of this section are being met.(1991, c. 310.)
