§135‑17.  Facility of payment.

In the event of the death of amember or beneficiary not survived by a person designated to receive any returnof accumulated contributions or balance thereof, or in the event that the Boardof Trustees shall find that a beneficiary is unable to care for his affairsbecause of illness or accident, any benefit payments due may, unless claimshall have been made therefor by a duly appointed guardian, committee or otherlegal representative, be paid to the spouse, a child, a parent or other bloodrelative, or to any person deemed by the Board of Trustees to have incurredexpense for such beneficiary or deceased member, and any such payments so madeshall be a complete discharge of the liabilities of this Retirement Systemtherefor.
