§ 136‑200.6.  Funds forlocal transportation planning efforts in areas designated nonattainment areasor maintenance areas.

(a)        Application. – Aregional transportation planning agency in an area designated as anonattainment or maintenance area under the federal Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. §7401, et seq.) that has policy‑setting authority for the entiredesignated area and that is representative of all local governments within thearea, may apply to the Department of Transportation for funds to support localtransportation planning efforts in that local government's region.

(b)        Matching Required.– Funds provided under this section shall be matched one‑for‑one bythe applicant agency.

(c)        Use of Funds. –Funds provided under this section shall only be used by the local applicantagency to support regional transportation planning within the designated area.

(d)        Local StaffRequired. – Funds shall be provided under this section only if localgovernments in the designated area support and supply staff to the regionaltransportation planning agency.

(e)        Limit on Funds. –The Department shall not provide more than two hundred fifty thousand dollars($250,000) in any fiscal year to any agency pursuant to this section. (2003‑284, s.29.14(c).)
