The Lieutenant Governor shallmaintain an office in a State building in the City of Raleigh which officeshall be open during normal working hours throughout the year. The LieutenantGovernor shall serve as President of the Senate and perform such additionalduties as the Governor or General Assembly may assign to him. This sectionshall become effective January 1, 1973. (1971, c. 864, s. 1.)
