§143A‑52.  Fire investigations; transfer.

The duties of the Commissionerof Insurance with respect to the investigation of all fires, including forestfires, as contained in Article 1 of Chapter 69 of the General Statutes and thelaws of this State, are hereby transferred by a Type I transfer to theDepartment of Justice; provided, however, that the duties of the Commissionerof Insurance with respect to the inspection of buildings, the removal ofdangerous materials therefrom, hospital insurance, insurance regulation, andthe preparation of annual reports, as contained in Chapters 57 and 58 of theGeneral Statutes and G.S. 69‑4, shall continue to be among the duties ofthe Commissioner of Insurance.
