§ 143B‑102. Historic Bath Commission – members; selection; quorum; compensation.

The Historic Bath Commission shall consist of 25 members appointed bythe Governor plus, ex officio, the mayor of the Town of Bath, the Chairman ofthe Board of Commissioners of Beaufort County, and the Secretary of CulturalResources or designee. The initial members of the Commission shall be themembers of the present Historic Bath Commission who shall serve for a periodequal to the remainder of their current terms on the Historic Bath Commission.At the end of the respective terms of office of the initial members of theCommission, the appointments of their successors, with the exception of the exofficio members, shall be for terms of five years and until their successors areappointed and qualify. Any appointments to fill a vacancy on the Commissioncreated by the resignation, dismissal, death or disability of a member shall befor the balance of the unexpired term. The Commission shall elect its ownofficers. Members of the Commission shall serve without pay and without expenseallowance from State funds. The Commission shall determine its requirements fora quorum. (1973, c. 476, s.98.)
