§ 143B‑528.  Visitsand community activities.

(a)        The Department shall encourage visits by parents orguardians and responsible relatives of juveniles committed to the custody ofthe Department.

(b)        The Department shall develop a program of home visits forjuveniles in the custody of the Department. The visits shall begin after thejuvenile has been in the custody of the Department for a period of at least sixmonths. In developing the program, the Department shall adopt criteria thatpromote the protection of the public and the best interests of the juvenile. (1998‑202, ss. 1(b), (2)c; 2000‑137, s.1(b).)
