§ 143B‑80. Executive Mansion Fine Arts Committee – members; selection; quorum;compensation.

The Executive Mansion Fine Arts Committee shall consist of 16 membersappointed by the Governor. The initial members of the Committee shall be theappointed members of the present Executive Mansion Fine Arts Commission whoshall serve for a period equal to the remainder of their current terms on theExecutive Mansion Fine Arts Commission, four of whose appointments expire June30, 1973, four of whose appointments expire June 30, 1974, four of whoseappointments expire June 30, 1975, and four of whose appointments expire June30, 1976. At the end of the respective terms of office of the initial members,the appointments of their successors shall be for terms of four years and untiltheir successors are appointed and qualify. Any appointment to fill a vacancyon the Committee created by the resignation, dismissal, death, or disability ofa member shall be for the balance of the unexpired term.

The Governor shall have the power to remove any member of the Committeefrom office in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 143B‑16 of theExecutive Organization Act of 1973.

The Governor shall designate a member of the Committee to serve aschairman at his pleasure.

Members of the Committee shall receive per diem and necessary traveland subsistence expenses in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 138‑5.

A majority of the Committee shall constitute a quorum for thetransaction of business.

All clerical and other services required by the Committee shall besupplied by the Secretary of Cultural Resources. (1973, c. 476, s. 66.)
