§ 15A‑1465.  Directorand other staff.

(a)        The Commissionshall employ a Director. The Director shall be an attorney licensed to practicein North Carolina at the time of appointment and at all times during service asDirector. The Director shall assist the Commission in developing rules andstandards for cases accepted for review, coordinate investigation of casesaccepted for review, maintain records for all case investigations, preparereports outlining Commission investigations and recommendations to the trialcourt, and apply for and accept on behalf of the Commission any funds that maybecome available from government grants, private gifts, donations, or bequestsfrom any source.

(b)        Subject to theapproval of the Chair, the Director shall employ such other staff and shallcontract for services as is necessary to assist the Commission in theperformance of its duties, and as funds permit.

(c)        The Commission may,with the approval of the Legislative Services Commission, meet in the StateLegislative Building or the Legislative Office Building, or may meet in an areaprovided by the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. TheDirector of the Administrative Office of the Courts shall provide office spacefor the Commission and the Commission staff. (2006‑184, s. 1.)
