§ 15A‑838.  Notice ofcommuted sentence or pardon.

The Governor's Clemency Officeshall notify a victim when it is considering commuting the defendant's sentenceor pardoning the defendant. The Governor's Clemency Office shall also givenotice that the victim has the right to present a written statement to beconsidered by the Office before the defendant's sentence is commuted or thedefendant is pardoned. The Governor's Clemency Office shall notify the victimof its decision. Notice shall be given in a manner that is reasonablycalculated to allow for a timely response to the commutation or pardondecision. (1998‑212, s. 19.4(c).)
