§ 162‑56.  Place of confinement.

Persons committed to the custody of a sheriff shall be confined in thefacilities designated by law for such confinement, and shall not be confined inany other place. Nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit or limit theauthority of a sheriff to house prisoners committed to his custody in quarters,approved by the Department of Health and Human Services, other than the countyjail.
