(a) Every self‑propelledmotor vehicle when operated on the highway shall be equipped with a speedometerwhich shall be maintained in good working order.
(b) Any personviolating this section shall have committed an infraction and may be ordered topay a penalty of not more than twenty‑five dollars ($25.00). No driverslicense points, insurance points or premium surcharge shall be assessed on orimputed to any party on account of a violation of this section. (1989(Reg. Sess., 1990), c. 822, s. 2.)
