§ 20‑183.10.  Operationof the permanent weigh stations by the Department of Crime Control and PublicSafety, Division of State Highway Patrol, uniformed personnel.

The permanent weigh stationsto be established pursuant to the provisions of this Article shall be operatedby the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, Division of State HighwayPatrol, who shall assign a sufficient number of sworn and nonsworn personnel tothe various weigh stations. Sworn personnel of the Division of State Highway Patrolshall supervise all nonsworn personnel assigned to weigh stations. The swornand nonsworn personnel shall have authority to weigh vehicles and to assesscivil penalties pursuant to Article 3, Part 9 of this Chapter and shall wearuniforms to be selected and furnished by the Department of Crime Control andPublic Safety, Division of State Highway Patrol. The uniformed sworn andnonsworn personnel assigned to the various permanent weigh stations shall weighvehicles and complete various reports as may be necessary for recordingviolations relating to the weight of vehicles and their loads. The uniformedofficers assigned to the various permanent weigh stations shall have the powersof peace officers for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this Chapterand in making arrests, serving process, and appearing in court in all mattersand things relating to the weight of vehicles and their loads.
