§28A‑25‑5.  Subsequently appointed personal representative orcollector.

Nothing in this Article shallpreclude any interested person, including the affiant, from petitioning theclerk of superior court for the appointment of a personal representative or collectorto conclude the administration of the decedent's estate. If such is done, theaffiant who has been collecting personal property by affidavit shall cease todo so, shall deliver all assets in his possession to the personalrepresentative, and shall render a proper accounting to the personalrepresentative or collector. A copy of the accounting shall also be filed withthe clerk having jurisdiction over the personal representative or collector.
