§28C‑20.  Provisions applicable to person held incommunicado in foreigncountry.

As to a person who is known tobe held incommunicado in a foreign country, G.S. 28C‑1 through 28C‑8and 28C‑10 may be applied as though such person were an absentee withinthe meaning of this Chapter, and if his whereabouts becomes unknown, the otherprovisions of this Chapter may be applied by such amendments to the pendingproceeding as may be required. This section shall not apply to personnelserving in or with the armed forces, the merchant marine, or the Red Crossduring a period of hostilities between the United States and some other powerwho are listed by the appropriate federal agency as prisoners of war or asmissing in action.
